Engagement Shaft 350.12.230.01 is used in the RPD-350 starter gearbox (350.12.010.00) and is designed to transmit force from the control mechanism to the gearbox engagement mechanism. The shaft ensures reliable engagement of the starter drive during diesel engine starting.
The shaft is installed in the bore of Gearbox Housing 350.12.050.10, where it moves freely and interacts with the other components of the mechanism. One end of the shaft features tapered splines that mesh with Handle Shaft 350.12.094.10, converting the rotary motion of the handle into movement of the engagement mechanism. The opposite end engages with Thrust Stop 350.12.005.00, providing engagement and disengagement of the starter gearbox.
Engagement Shaft 350.12.230.01 is part of Starter Gearbox 350.12.010.00 and operates together with Gearbox Housing 350.12.050.10, Handle Shaft 350.12.094.10, Thrust Stop 350.12.005.00, Lever 350.12.100.00, Gearbox Shaft 350.12.002.00, and other engagement mechanism components.
When servicing the gearbox, it is recommended to inspect the tapered splines, shaft and housing seating surfaces, as well as the condition of the thrust stop and other mating components. Wear of these parts may result in difficult gearbox engagement or incomplete engagement of the mechanism.
Engagement Shaft 350.12.230.01 is used on HTZ tractors equipped with the RPD-350 (P-350) starter engine and SMD-60 diesel engines, as well as on other machinery with the same starting system.
