The left casing cover 60-07017.00 is an element of the exhaust system of the SMD-60 engine, which is installed together with the left manifold casing 60-07019.00 and serves to protect and thermally insulate the exhaust manifold 60-07102.10.
The cover acts as a closing element of the casing, preventing the leakage of hot gases and directing the heat flow in the right direction, which reduces the heating of adjacent engine components and parts. Thanks to its design, it also protects operating personnel from accidental contact with heated surfaces.
